The seasonal mod socket now functions beyond the season it’s released in. Guardians can now change their armor energy to a different affinity - allowing them to equip different mods. While weapons got hit pretty hard, the armor system is getting a major quality of life update. However, auto rifles are more powerful, and Bungie reworked swords to make them viable weapons. Bungie nerfed all of these weapon types for Season of the Worthy, reducing most weapon damage across the board.
